I love making strawberry watermelon agua fresca! It's so refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day. The combination of sweet watermelon and tart strawberries is simply irresistible. I like adding a little lime juice and some mint leaves for an extra flavor. It's also a great way to stay hydrated without all the added sugar of other drinks. Give it a try, and you won't be disappointed!
How to pick a sweet, ripe watermelon? The way my dad taught me was by tapping the watermelon. If there is a hollow sound, it is grown and juicy and at the peak of its ripeness. Another way is by the color of the watermelon. The green stripes should be a deep, dark green, while the lighter lines should be a creamy light yellow. Therefore, choose a watermelon with duller colors; the ones with a shiny finish are likely not ripe. Also, check the end of the watermelon. This spot should be small; the smaller the spot, the riper the watermelon. If you have other suggestions on how to pick a ripe watermelon, share in the comments.
Ripe, sweet strawberries are much easier to pick. The brighter the color, the sweeter the strawberry. Pick ones that are vibrant in color with minimal discoloration around the stem. If whiteness exists around the stem, the berries were harvested before they ripened.

¡Pruébalo y no te decepcionará

By preparing birria in the instant pot you can enjoy your birria in as little as two hours compared to the 3-4 hours it usually takes making when making it the traditional way.
Yes, you read the title correctly! These simple but tasty tacos originated back in the early 1950s. Don Lauro from Zacatecas, Mexico (where I was born), first began selling his tacos in the streets of Zacatecas. Each time he was asked what was in the tacos, he would simply reply, Veneno, which translates to poison. My mom made these for us, but her recipe was a little different. Let me know what you think if you decide to make them.
Discada is a plate typically made on a large, concave metal disc called a disco. It's a very versatile dish prepared with different cuts of meat which usually consists of chicken, beef, pork, chorizo, ham, hot dogs, and veggies. The perfect dish to prepare for tailgating, birthdays, or any other occasion when you have a large crowd to feed. I especially enjoy this dish because the ingredients are never the same, and it can be prepared with ingredients you already have on hand. Add or take away ingredients to make it as unique to your taste and needs.
